About

Born into racing.
Built across every discipline.

From Turffontein to KwaZulu-Natal, by way of England — and back home where it all began.

It began at Turffontein racecourse in Johannesburg. My grandfather trained horses, and I was born and bred into the racing world — it's in the family. In those early days I was working for Geoff Woodruff at Turffontein when I met Malan du Toit, and that meeting changed the course of my career.

I spent as much time with Malan as I possibly could, learning everything he was willing to teach. He would start the work on a horse, and I'd carry out the follow-up sessions. Over time he began passing me the less intensive, lower-risk cases to handle on my own. Eventually, with his blessing, I started taking on my own work in Johannesburg.

From there I moved to KwaZulu-Natal and really began building the practice — expanding beyond racehorses into show jumpers, dressage horses, nappers, and behaviour cases of every kind, across the country. I've been doing that successfully for a long time now. But my roots are, and always will be, in thoroughbred racehorses and the racing yards of South Africa.

I spent six years in England, and I learned an enormous amount — about myself, about people, and about horses. I came to understand their resilience in a deeper way: their willingness to be out in the cold and keep working when it's hard, when it's tough, when most would give up.

I also learned that my own approach needed to change. Not the principles — those hold — but the way I share them. If I want to spread a message and genuinely help the relationship between horse and human, I have to meet people where they are.

And then it was time to come home. Time to return to my roots. So I'm back — across KwaZulu-Natal, taking on clients again, and doing the work I was always meant to do.
